This project explores the intersection of architectural rigidity and fluid human agency through a reactive, physics-based grid system. Conceptually, it challenges the static nature of traditional design by introducing a living structure that responds to user movement as a finite resource. As the cursor explores the space, the grid physically contracts a metaphor for the consumption of digital territory, until it reaches a tipping point, triggering a violent geometric explosion and rebirth. Technically, the work is a custom React and HTML5 Canvas implementation utilizing a point-mass physics engine. Each node in the grid is governed by spring dynamics, where Fspring is calculated based on tension and friction variables to simulate tactile elasticity. The system tracks cumulative mouse travel distance to trigger shrink events, cycling the canvas through Square, Triangle, and Circle geometries. The project demonstrates a critical position that views code not merely as a tool for execution, but as a creative material capable of expressing tension, decay, and regeneration.
